Cleaning your Jewelry

Gold-filled and sterling silver are highly resistant to tarnishing, but they can appear dirty or darker over time.

In rare circumstances, your gold-filled jewelry may appear darker due to your body's pH and/or extended exposure to chemicals. Washing it with mild soap and water will help keep it clean and sparkly. Regular bathing is usually enough, but you can give it a gentle extra scrub or polish it with a cloth.

It sounds odd, but the more you wear sterling silver, the shinier it will be. The natural friction and oil from your body will keep it looking nice. If it does start to look dull, polish it with a jewelry cloth to get the shine back. Please note that some people's body chemistry WILL turn silver dark. Again, rubbing it with a cloth will help, but if you know your skin turns silver black, opt for gold-filled instead!

Policies

Your safety and comfort are important!

The chains we carry are carefully selected based on their thickness, link structure and ability to break.

Your piece may break if it snags or catches on something or is under great pressure/impact. This is a good thing! It protects your soft tissue and as long as you still have the jewelry, it can be re-welded or put back on with a clasp.

If you prefer thicker chains than we carry, we can order what you are looking for, size and customize it to your liking, and add a clasp instead of a weld.

It is our policy to not weld children under the age of 13, though we will gladly help them design a clasped piece. Later, we can add length to the chain as they grow or once they reach the appropriate age for our welding.

Please note that permanent/welded jewelry is not suitable for people with metal sensitivities.

Refunds and Repairs

We hope you love your item as much as we did making it!

Keep in mind that though your jewelry is welded together and “permanent,” it is not indestructible! Like any other piece of jewelry, it can still break and should be gently cared for.

If your bracelet, anklet or necklace gets caught and breaks or stretches, we will do our best to repair or adjust it for a $10 fee.  If the chain breaks AT the weld within 14 days of your purchase, we will repair the piece for free.

Because welded jewelry requires sizing and cutting the chain specific to you, these pieces and any chains/connectors are final sale.

Like any other jewelry purchase, Palomino Jo is not liable for lost chains.
